What ID to bring

Everyone must prove who they are and where they live. There are three ways to do that.

1. One piece of photo ID that shows your address

  • BC driver's licence or BC Identification Card
  • BC Services Card (with photo)
  • Another B.C. or Canadian government card with your name, photo and address
  • Certificate of Indian Status

2. Two pieces of ID or documents

Each must show your name, and at least one must show your current address. Examples include a bank or credit card statement, utility bill, residential lease, property tax assessment, passport, birth certificate, or your Where to Vote card. Electronic documents and scans are accepted. Handwritten information generally isn't.

3. No ID? Have someone vouch for you

A registered voter in your electoral district, or a close family member, can vouch for you. They need acceptable ID, and you both make a solemn declaration. There are limits on how many people one person can vouch for.
